Allegro - Now made in USA « Result #1 on Jul 20, 2009, 7:17pm »
Following a period of uncertainty after the Fantasy Air Czech factory ceased production in September last year, production has resumed in the USA. Due to the popularity of the Allegro as a Light Sport Aircraft (LSA) around 75% of the Czech factory output was sold to the USA but the weak Dollar to Euro exchange rate was threatening not just the Allegro, but all LSA imports due to a 40% increase in the dollar price. Fantasy Air were keen to retain their position in the market and have formed a partnership with an existing LSA manufacturer based in Oregon to reduce the Euro cost content. The Allegro is now "Made in the USA" which will further enhance its popularity and maintain the enviable reputation the Allegro has as the number 1 value LSA on price and performance. Many of the the original Czech team of craftsmen and engineers are working alongside their US partners to ensure a smooth changeover and production start up. UK price benefits too from better £/Dollar exchange rate than the Euro.

Today I went to see the new allegro being assembled. I didn't stand a chance of ever getting into the old shape as I am a 20st slimline FB. after a bit of practice though, I soon found it was quite easy to get into the new shape allegro. Much bigger cabin and doors, really like the look of this new one so my name goes on the list for one. cant see a problem with it after over 400 hrs in my 2 skyrangers. Well done to Malcolm for being persistent with getting it through its section s trials. See you and it at the show. Terry Viner
